What to dow with new puppy and bicycle?!?

Hi everyone - I have a new puppy who loves to chew...and oddly enough he likes to lick my bicycle chain (Gross!) I live in a tiny NYC apartment and cannot put the bicycle anywhere except out in the open (seriously, our closets are that small!) - how can I keep him from licking it...I thought about spraying it with bitter apple/bitter orange but will that mess up the grease on the bike itself and cause issues? Any other cyclists/puppy owners know what to do?! Thanks!

Can you cover the bike with a blanket? You can weigh down the blanket so she can't sneak under with some books.
