Things to Consider When Constructing Your First Cycle

There is no perfect “first cycle†for steroid users. You use the best combination you can come up with; from whatever available compounds you can obtain, to meet your unique set of goals. It’s not like starting workout or diet routines, where all options are available to everyone. Let’s get started!

What are my goals?

Do you just want to add ten pounds of muscle to your frame? Are you trying to add 50 pounds of bulk (half muscle, half fat) to your body? Are you trying to get stronger or faster, as opposed to bigger?

What substances are available to me?

You’ll likely be ordering from the Internet, which may provide you with a lot of ordering options. However, if you’re obtaining your steroids from a doctor or friend at the gym, you may be very limited to one or two compounds. Can you assure their purity? Purchasing legally prescribed testosterone from a doctor, you are ensured purity, while buying a bottle of unmarked orals from a friend doesn’t offer such assurances.

Do these two substances complement one another?

Synergy is the goal when constructing a cycle. You should select two compounds, which take different receptor pathways to ensure you’re getting the most out of the cycle. Additionally, use one to cover the effects of another. If you’re taking Deca, you will likely suffer from an inability to maintain an erection. Taking testosterone with it will ensure you certainly don’t have this problem.

What will be the side effects?

You might run the cycle for a short eight weeks, and lose your hair forever. You might suffer from Gynecomastia and require surgery to remove it – making your short cycle cost you thousands of dollars for a few pounds of muscle gain.

What is your post-cycle therapy plan?

Do you have your post-contest regimen planned? Without an AI and a SERM, you’ll likely suffer from spiked estrogen levels, low testosterone levels, and Gynecomastia. Plan ahead, and consult an expert in these areas. You should have these compounds ready when you begin your “on†cycle.

What are the legal risks?

If you do get in trouble for these drugs, will it cost you your job? Does your job/school regularly test for these compounds? Will you be cheating at some sport or tested organization while using these?

Each cycle is a unique and different beast. Its creation is contingent upon your various goals, available compounds, and the risks you are willing to take, financial, legal, and health-wise. Ask yourself each of the questions above before starting that first cycle, and weigh every risk and reward.

Where can I find cycling/bike shorts in colors other than black?

I have spandex cycling shorts in black, and one in blue... but can never find them in other colors. I'd like some in red, orange, yellow, white, etc... and others with various designs and patterns. The stores I go to only sell black, black, and more black. Even Pearl Izumi's website only sells black cycling shorts.

But where can I find cycling shorts in a variety of colors -- either stores or websites?
